पौराणिक होली कथा Ascient History of Holi

प्राचीन काल में हिरण्यकश्यप नामक एक अहंकारी असुर था, जो भगवान विष्णु का कट्टर शत्रु माना जाता था। हालांकि, उसका अपना पुत्र, प्रह्लाद, भगवान विष्णु का परम भक्त था। प्रह्लाद की भक्ति देखकर हिरण्यकश्यप क्रोधित रहता था और चाहता था कि वह विष्णु की आराधना छोड़कर केवल उसकी पूजा करे।

जब प्रह्लाद ने ऐसा करने से इनकार कर दिया, तो हिरण्यकश्यप ने उसे मारने के कई प्रयास किए, लेकिन हर बार श्री विष्णु की कृपा से प्रह्लाद बच जाता। यह देखकर हिरण्यकश्यप का क्रोध और बढ़ गया।

आखिरकार, उसने अपनी बहन होलिका से प्रह्लाद को अग्नि में भस्म करने का आग्रह किया। होलिका को यह वरदान प्राप्त था कि अग्नि उसे जला नहीं सकती। योजना के अनुसार, वह प्रह्लाद को गोद में लेकर अग्नि में बैठ गई, लेकिन श्री विष्णु की कृपा से चमत्कार हुआ – होलिका स्वयं जलकर भस्म हो गई, जबकि प्रह्लाद सकुशल बच गया।
